Hi, my name is Adam . I’m a middle aged Father of three and Husband to the Wife. I’m also the dogfather (as nobody else will walk her).
Welcome to my blog. Musings on life, fatherhood and family.
Why askyerfather.com ?
Father’s can sometimes get a bad rap in the media and I wanted to help be part of a movement putting that straight; to show that we can be great role-models for kids, that many (if not most) want to be there and take an active role in the day-to-day raisong of our kids.
In 2017 I became a SAHD (stay at home dad) and this little ol’ blog became active. This is my daily life and i’d like to share it with you.
I’m also a founding member of the #dadsquad on twitter (@hashtagdadsquad), a group of dads that meet online to share stories and cheer each other up. Most of the time we’re jokey but we do have a serious point, to show that more and more Dad’s are coming together as a community and sharing more and more of the childcare. And we’re good at it too (mostly). Dadcare shouldn’t be seen as the exception to the rule. It’s normal.
A word about my mental health posts:
I’m honest and upfront on this blog about my mental health. I do and have suffered at times in my life from Depression and Anxiety. It does NOT define me but I think it’s important (especially for men) to speak up about their mental health, to support others in a similar situation and to help de-stigmatise mental health in general. Therefore I am happy to discuss, talk and support discussion about mental health on this blog and with other mental health communities and campaigns. If you want me to blog for you or support your campaign, please get in touch (details below).
